Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture Makes Work More Rewarding for Coastal Fish Farmers of Bangladesh
The decline in fish stocks due to overfishing has severely affected the livelihoods of fishing communities in coastal Bangladesh. Testing and refining Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) along the coast is generating new streams of income and nutrition, while cleaning water quality and helping capture carbon. |

A decade ago, a hatchery operator in Nepal struggled to supply quality fish seed for key species like carp to smallholder farmers and had to depend on imports or far off places. A learning visit to Bangladesh changed the course and continues to transform and disrupt the market in Nepal. |
