Civil Society and Integration in the Nordics – Volunteering Efforts for Inclusion in the Event of large refugee arrivals
On June 7th 2022, the Ministry of Labor and Social Inclusion and the Ministry of Culture and Equality will hold a Nordic conference on the role of civil society in the field of integration. The conference will take place at Radisson Blue Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo.
The conference will focus on the efforts of voluntary organizations for refugees in the event of large refugee arrivals, in light of the many refugees who is now arriving to the Nordic countries from the war in Ukraine. Perspectives from research, civil society and politics across the Nordic countries will be presented. The purpose of the conference is to exchange knowledge, share experiences from civil society organizations, facilitate network building and promote the contribution of civil society to this work in the Nordic countries.
The target group for the conference is civil society actors, researchers and representatives from the public sector. The conference will be streamed.
The conference is organized in the light of the Norway’s presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers for 2022 and is one of the measures in the strategy «Hverdagsintegrering», a strategy to strengthen civil society’s role in the field of integration 2021-2024.
