This mini conference is a celebration of longstanding ocean partnerships, joining forces to ensure sustainability in environmental, economic and social dimensions. The conference will highlight the importance of ocean governance for human prosperity protecting the role of the ocean as a source of food security, income and livelihood. It will also highlight the importance of science-based policy and a cross-sectorial competence approach, both on a national, regional and global level. Topics will include ocean science for sustainable ocean management, building a blue economy, sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, food security and nutrition. We will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the EAF Nansen program and showcasing decades of successful regional cooperation and knowledge exchange. During the session we will offer tastings of treasures form the ocean.
To support the important messages of this mini conference the Crown Prince of Norway will be present, as will the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy and the Norwegian Minister of International Development, and other prominent high-level guests.
Practical information
The event will take place at Quai Riboty, an area defined as a “Red Zone” at UNOC 2025. To gain access to the event participants must be on the event's guest list.
