An international team from the United States, Luxembourg and the OECD Secretariat will, during their visit to Norway, evaluate the NCP\u2019s performance \u2013 both as a grievance mechanism and in its role of promoting responsible business conduct. To mark the opening of the Peer Review days, we are also hosting a short seminar on Tuesday, 23 September at 12:00. For more information and registration: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/news\/seminar-on-remedy-in-responsible-business-conduct\/\">Seminar on Remedy and Responsible Business Conduct \u2013 Ansvarlig N\u00e6ringsliv<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All 52 countries that have adhered to the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises are obliged to\u00a0periodicaly undergo a Peer Review of their NCP. The purpose is to assess strengths and weaknesses against the mandate and the core principles that NCPs should operate in a manner that is visible, accessible, transparent, accountable, impartial, equitable, and consistent with the Guidelines \u2013 and to provide recommendations for improvement. The Peer Review is a structured process lasting 18\u201324 months and relies heavily on stakeholder input.<\/p>\n<p>In reviewing the Norwegian NCP, the team will listen to input from a wide range of stakeholders: government authorities, business, trade unions, civil society and academia. Topics will range from the NCP\u2019s institutional setup, framework and resources to case handling and efforts to promote the OECD Guidelines and contribute to policy development. Preliminary findings will be presented at the end of the visit, while the final report is expected in 2026.
