The <a href=\"https:\/\/lovdata.no\/dokument\/NLE\/lov\/2021-06-18-99\">Act<\/a> places a legal obligation on enterprises to perform due diligence in accordance with the OECD Guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>The NCP has experienced a strong and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/#panel-2-0\">increased interest<\/a> for the OECD Guidelines and regulative development in this area. The NCP and the secretariat have in 2021 given presentations at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-5-1\">range of events<\/a> for different sectors, finance institutions, law firms and academia.<\/p>\n<p>The annual report displays some of the NCP\u2019s priority areas and activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-2-0\">Transparency Act<\/a> has resulted in increasing demand for guidance, courses and tools which can assist companies in conducting due diligence in compliance with the OECD Guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-5-0\">course on responsible business conduct<\/a> had record high registration, with very good feedback from the course participants.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP has handled an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/handling-specific-instances\/\">increased number of specific instances<\/a> of more complex character than in previous years.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP invited to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/handling-specific-instances\/#panel-5-0\">a seminar<\/a> on the NCP\u2019s complaint mechanism and what can be achieved through dialogue and mediation.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP\u2019s competence was in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-5-1\">high demand<\/a>; members of the NCP and the secretariat presented at more than 35 conferences and events.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP enhanced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-4-1\">social dimension in sustainable finance<\/a>, together with central actors in the finance sector.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP continues to develop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/news\/the-rbc-compass-new-tool\/\">tools<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/promoting-the-oecd-guidelines-and-providing-guidance-to-businesses\/#panel-6-0\">guidance<\/a> for responsible business conduct.<\/li>\n<li>The NCP has participated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.responsiblebusiness.no\/annual-reports\/annual-report-2021\/international-cooperation\/\">peer review of Ireland\u2019s NCP<\/a>, which is an important measure to contribute to functional equivalence between all NCPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone
